Reconciliation Week is celebrated annually from 27 May to 3 June and recognises the importance of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and achievements. For the past decade, the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries has coordinated the Street Banner Project, displaying banners sponsored by organisations in prominent locations across Western Australia.
With the support of a growing number of organisations and local governments this project offers a positive contribution towards reconciliation and provides the opportunity for organisations to acknowledge the significant place of Aboriginal people and culture within our community.
Your organisation can publicly demonstrate your commitment to reconciliation by sponsoring one or more banners to be displayed in prominent locations across Western Australia. Featuring your corporate logo and artwork from Western Australian Aboriginal artist Tee Jay Worrigal, this year’s banners will also promote the National Reconciliation Week theme: More Than a Word. Reconciliation Takes Action. Starting from as little as $350, banners can form an integral activity in your Reconciliation Action Plan.
