It was a busy day at the Wirra Hub on Tuesday when we held two events open to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses.
The morning saw our trade and construction businesses visit the Hub to attend the AWB Contractor Breakfast. This information morning saw our attendees hear from AWB, an all trades building and construction company, about upcoming construction opportunities and how they can help Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander trades people gain work.
Attendees then heard from Bunnings, who hosted giveaways as well as offered bonus discounts on top of already existing trade discounts. Bunnings also brought along their suppliers Taubmans and AEG PowerTools to chat with our clients.
Our trades businesses all partook in a yarning circle where they discussed their own businesses, and a chance to network over breakfast catered by Wirra Hub client, Gather Foods!
The afternoon then saw our friends from IPS host their ABCB Leadership course, which was available to attend both in person at the Hub and online.
The course focuses on understanding how to inspire and motivate employees and covered how effective leadership leads to an organisation with aligned objectives and assists in employees working effectively.
All of the workshops, courses and events held by the Wirra Hub are open to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses and are free of charge. If you’re interested in the services the Wirra Hub offers, contact us to learn more.
